One of the major pieces of feedback we've received is that it's tough to stick your neck out. To quote one young physicist (who shall remain anonymous):
It's quite scary to put your opinions out there. I think it's fine but it takes a lot more work to get it right.
This is a completely understandable sentiment for an aspiring academic. You don't want to annoy potential colleagues and collaborators, and you certainly don't want to say something silly.
So we've decided to enable anonymous reviews. To make your review anonymous just select the checkbox beside the submit button.
But we're not going to stop there. We have a lot of ideas for how to make the review process better. For example, perhaps young researchers could team up with their supervisors to review collaboratively. Or perhaps all reviews should remain anonymous until they receive five positive upvotes…
What do you think? How can we make peer review better?
