The manuscript is well written and I could not find any major flaws in the entire manuscript However, minor revision is needed before accepting the manuscript. Some comments/corrections mentioned in the annotated manuscript may be taken care of while revising the manuscript. The figures and tables are nicely prepared. I do not have any hesitation to recommend this work to be published in Geological Journal after minor revision
