This manuscript under review describes atomic structure of an intermetallic compound newly discovered in ternary Al-V-Sn system by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction and HAADF-STEM. This also present the result of electronic structure calculation and discussed in terms of Hume-Rothery mechanism and spd hybridization.
The manuscript is well-written, and the analysis and interpretations of the results are consistent and sound. However, CIF are not deposited on CCDC web and checkCIF report is not attached (I suppose it is mandatory to submit CIF in the review process in ACS journals). Therefore, I would like to check CIF before recommending it for acceptance.
