The manuscript reviewed date fruit’s chemical composition, health benefits and applications for nutrition bars for athletes. The manuscript is interesting for application of Date fruit in functional and athletic food. In general, the following improvements are required before being accepted.
1.The title for each part should be integrated. The manuscript should be divided into four main parts: introduction, chemical and nutritional compounds, functional effects, athletic foods development and application. For example, “2.7. Other constituents” and “2.7.1. Tannin” should be integrated to be one title,4.5.6.7.”should be ”3.1,3.2,3.3,3.4”, and “8.9.10” should belong to one part.
2.In “8. Date fruit product development for athletes. ” , the content is mainly about review. The developed product should have main ingredients, nutritional facts.
3.Figures 1-3 are basic knowledge, and should be deleted.
4.There are lots of grammar and writing errors:
(1)The unit should be international unit: Line 69 “Metric tons”, Line 78 “tons” , Line 153-154, “0.14 g/100 g”
(2) Line 84, “using the Arabic terms Hababouk, Kimri, Khalal, Rutab, and Tamr” ? how to express in English?
(3) Line 123, “(Guido et al., 2011) analyzed”, Line 129, “ (Hadrami & Al-Khayri, 2012) observed” Line 149-159, “According to (El-Sohaimy & Hafez,150 2010),”?
(4)Line 126-127, “According to (Ali, Waly, Essa, & Devarajan, 2012) The pectin start ”
(5)Line 133, “The cellulose activity” should be “cellulase activity”?
(6)Line 328, “Figure 7”should be “Figure 6”
(7)Line 331, what commercial products are? Name, type, ingredients.
5. The reference has been submitted three times.
