This manuscript develops and validates a risk score to predict mortality for patients admitted to hospital with covid-19. The aim is to develop a score that can be used in real-life hospital settings, so they take a very pragmatic approach. The results compare well with previously published scores which they apply (where possible) to their validation cohort. In my opinion this is an excellent piece of work, and (unusually for me) I can find nothing to criticise.

To add the icing on the cake they have uploaded the relevant EQUATOR checklist (TRIPOD); a requirement which is usually ignored by medxriv authors.
