Comments on Abstract

The author clearly aimed the research at evaluating the antidiabetic activity of Vinca rosea methanolic whole plant extracts in alloxan induced diabetic rats, the title is relevant and informative however the summary of methodology used needs to be included in the abstract. It will be required to replace some of the references beyond 10 years with recent ones.

Comments on introduction

The author provided adequate information as foundational knowledge for the study however the statement:

“In this study the prolonged effect (up to 14 day) of the methanolic extracts of whole plant of Vinca rosea in fasting blood glucose (FBG) and biochemical parameters such as serum total cholesterol (TC), LDL, HDL, creatinine, urea, and alkaline phosphatase were studied in alloxan induced diabetic rats”

needs restructuring for clarity and alignment with research outcome.

Comments on methodology

The total number animals used in the study, animal groups and treatments per group need to be included in the methodology to boost the scientific value and reproducibility of the research work.

Comments on Results

The experimental results are in line with research question , the article included relevant tables and figures with appropriate units and number of decimals. Titles columns and rows are correctly labelled. Grouping of data is appropriate and practically meaningful.

Comments on Discussion

The conclusion made by the author is clearly in agreement with the aim of the study. The referencing of the work is adequate (except for minor corrections earlier mentioned) and in line with results and conclusion. The conclusion of the study will serves as basis for further studies.
