Dear authors. Your manuscript represents a fine piece of work and there is no doubt that the results and further findings are very important to understanding PPD in Cassava. However, I have found some issues that I would love to see addressed before the paper's publication. Please see my comments in the annotated pdf file that I am attaching.

Dear authors.

Please see my comments on the annotated pdf file (attached). After reviewing the ms for the second time, I consider that many of the sections are adequate for publication. However, I feel that the introduction section is still weak and may be improved. Also, the discussion and conclusion sections of the ms may be improved, highlighting the impact of your research. I wish you the best.
