This is an extensive review but does not offer much in the way of new information as compared to other reviews of the topic. The title is a little too cute and does not accurately reflect the contents of the paper. I was hoping for more specific information on cannabinoids as they relate to the theorized mechanisms in BMS. Some discussion on the need to phenotype the presentations of BMS as well as why burning mouth disorder may be more appropriate terminology would be helpful. Also, a discussion on the pros and cons of the different formulations, ie, THC versus CBD would be of interest.
Overall, if the aim of the paper is to propose the potential role for cannabinoids in the treatment burning mouth, more time should be spent on that and less on the exhaustive review of the entity.
Also of note: some wording used in the draft is very close in construct to the papers cited and the formatting of the bibliography does not appear to be consistent.
