This manuscript provides a brief look into nanoparticle-assisted sonodynamic therapy. Although not an exhaustive review of the topic, the authors provide brief summaries of recent research and a good discussion about the topic.

However, there a few issues that needs to be addressed:

  1. There are a lot of acronyms in the text without explanation
making some sentences very hard to read and understand. Please provide the full form of the acronyms the first time they're mentioned. This is especially true for Table 1, without explanations it's very hard to make sense out of this table.

  2. Figure 1 has a typo, it should read PLGA not PLAG. This figure can also benefit from a better caption as it isn't the "mechanisms of nanomaterials" that is depicted here but more like the mechanism of SDT.

  3. In Page 2 Line 51 "...mechanism by which ultrasound imaging guides SDT nanomaterials." reads as if the nanomaterials are guided/targeted by ultrasound which is not the case. It can benefit from a rewriting for a clearer meaning.

  4. Figure 3A depits the nanomaterial used for PTT rather than SDT. If this was a multimodal therapy nanomaterials please add an explanation to the caption (or the text) to denote this.

  5. Page 8 L4 the sentence "In addition,a common ultrasound diagnostic molecule with a high oxygen carrying capacity." lacks a subject, please check and rewrite.

  6. Page 8 I guess (C-ML/HPT/O2) nanoplatform is mentioned in subsection Carbon-based nanomaterials as a carrier due to its perfluorocarbon content but it's more of a liposome and since you have a subsection for liposomes, it will be better to move this paragraph there.

  7. Page 10 L 47 "Modified gold can enable imaging-guidewhiched therapy..." typo, please remove which, (imaging-guided therapy).

  8. P11 L53 there are no result or details about the study by Huang et al, the sentence merely states that they prepared a silica nanomaterials variant, please provide some details about the study related to SDT.

  9. P12 L8 I couldn't find any mention in the literature of IR780 being an ANNA dye. Perhaps it was meant to be said "cyanine dye"?

  10. P13 L6 ICG is not "immunogenic cell death" its "indocyanine green".

  11. P13 L56 "Hou et al. used the Amphiphilic Rose Bengal (ARB) is a novel acoustic sensitizer delivery MBs prepared by coupling Rose Bengal to hexadecylamine through stable amine bonds to..." this sentence can benefit from a rewriting for clearer meaning. Also MB acronym needs full form for the meaning to be clear.

  12. P15 L15 "Again, it must be noted that there may be significant individual differences when using nanomedicines for treatment" same sentence written twice in succession.

  13. Ref 36 has to DOI numbers
