The manuscript entitled “Advance in the synthesis and application of macrocyclic polyamines” can be published after few minor corrections.
The authors nicely described the synthesis of few interesting macrocyclic polyamine derivatives and demonstrated their applications as non-viral gene vectors, fluorescent probes for cellular imaging studies, diagnostic, therapeutic reagent and in various catalytic reactions. The review is well-written and is useful for the neophytes who wish to pursue their research journey of macrocyclic chemistry based on these types of receptors. However, there are some minor things those need to be changed before final acceptance.

a) In the reaction schemes, full reaction conditions should be mentioned, like for example, reagents, temp, time, yield.
b) Scheme 10 does not contain any reaction condition.
c) Figure 4 is actually a reaction scheme. It needs to be changed. There is a spelling mistake of “Acetone”. Full reaction conditions should be provided here as I discussed earlier.
d) If some of the graphics are directly taken from the published journals, they should be acknowledged properly with copyright permissions. For example Figure 1, 2 and 3.
e) Instead of a “summary” in Conclusions and Future Scopes, a separate paragraph can be provided for the future scopes as lots of works are already done with these molecules for several decades.

The authors addressed all my suggestions, however, did not acknowledge the published journals at the Figure captions of 1, 2 and 3. If that is not required for this particular RSC Journal then the draft is ready for publication. Otherwise, the authors should do that and send the revised version to the editorial office again after acknowledging in proper place.
