In this review entitled “Recent Advances in the Synthesis and Utility of Thiazoline and Its Derivatives”, the authors have described recent progress in the synthesis of thiazolines and thiazoline derivatives and their applications in different scientific fields. In the introduction section, a literature study on the source of thiazolines from different natural origins has been resented. In the second part, some recent advances in the synthesis of thiazoline/thiazoline derivatives over the existing literature are discussed. In the application part, fluorescence, catalytic and pharmacological (anti-cancer, anti-microbial, anti-diabetic, inhibitors of dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-4) and aldose reductase (ALR2) for developing innovative anti-diabetic medications, and etc.) behaviours of several thiazoline derivatives are suitably elaborated, which may be very useful for readers in designing new thiazoline derivatives with desired properties. Additionally, some thiazoline-containing fluorescent probes are shown to detect metal ions (Hg2+, Cu2+) with remarkable minimum detection limits and few specific thiazoline-based ligand-metal complexes that exhibit exceptional catalytic activity in promoting the efficiency of [3+2] cycloaddition reactions (click chemistry) and enable improvement of the enantioselectivity of the Friedel-Crafts reaction have been demonstrated. Considering all these, I agree that this manuscript is suitable for publication in RSC Advances.
However, there are many typo errors that need to be rectified before publication. A few are shown below: i) All scientific names need to be italicized.
ii) In some of the compound structures, for example, the compound structure in Scheme 24, superscripts and subscripts of substituents are not uniformly placed.
iii) “Pd (II)” needs to be written as Pd(II).
iv) “IC50” needs to be corrected as IC50 all over the MS.
v) Compound names with capital N, for example, “N-allylthioamides” need to be italicized throughout the MS.
vi) Some of the compound numbers are not written in BOLD Front style, which needs to be taken care of.
