Thank you for this interesting paper. The researcher as well as the participant perspectives provide a positive contribution to research methods that may be adopted in qualitative research. It is clear and well-constructed but would benefit from some minor tweaks as outlined below.

The title could include ‘reflection’ to fully represent the content of the manuscript, as while feminist approaches were adopted, the manuscript was more a reflective piece. Using the term ‘strategies’ in the title infers to me that specific strategies or actions are taken/recommended rather than the more general approach that was adopted.

Given you had discussed ethical principles and methods in the background, you could link to Modern Feminist Ethics on page 5 where you discuss adopting feminist methods.

The manuscript would benefit from editing occasional errors (page 4, line 10) and punctuation, particularly missing commas in-text and with some references e.g. commas needed for page 2, line 31, page 3 line 10, line 25. ?Change of font colour lines 49-53. Please write the acronym NICE out in full when first introduced (line53) for the international audience.

The changes made by the authors address the previous comments made. The paper is an interesting addition to the literature and demonstrates the importance of empathic approaches to research.
