The manuscript titled as “Preparation and high temperature tribological properties of multi-layer graphene/SiO2 composites-based solid lubricant coatings” authored by Wei Wang et al. demonstrates the multi-layer graphene/SiO2 composites to make better solid lubricant coatings. The authors successfully addressed the reviewer’s comments, and the manuscript is recommended for the publication to the journal RSOS after minor revision to address the comments below.
1. The authors provided information of contact pressure to make readers evaluate results with other literatures apple by apple. Can the authors explain how to define Poisson’s ratio of the composite when calculating effective Young’s modulus?
2. Again for the page of the Hertzian contact theory equations, there are four equations. Please correct the numbering of the equations, and define the applied load with the same alphabet (W or P).
3. In the graph of the Raman spectra, the title of y-axis should be corrected: Intensity (arb.unites) –> Intensity (a.u.) or Intensity (arb.units). Also, when writing the unit in the text, it is suggested to put a spacing between the number and the unit, and if the pressure or stress is in the order of a thousand MPa, then please convert it to the unit of GPa.
4. Please proofread the manuscript again to be free of editorial and grammatical errors.
