This contribution by Sánchez and co-workers is a solid position paper on causal machine learning as applied to personalised medicine.
As such, it does not contribute anything purely novel from a technical or methodological viewpoint, but it frames quite nicely a relevant perspective for the medical application of machine learning (with a focus on precision/personalised medicine), with a clear perception of the state-of-the-art.
