Dear Editor, Thank you so much for choosing me one of the reviewers for the paper entitled "Morpho-molecular taxonomic studies reveal a high number of endophytic fungi from Magnolia candolli and M. garetti in China and Thailand" (MY2021-02)

I have carefully read the manuscript and my comments are listed below:

  1. The findings of this study are very interesting and appreciated, however, it needs to improve the English language. There are plenty of grammatical errors and unnecessary sentences throughout the whole manuscript (please see the annotated file)

  2. The presentation of all data is very weak. The authors are encouraged to combine the result and discussion sections together. If authors insist to keep them separately then the result sections should only highlight the findings of this study rather than focusing previous studies.

  3. The results section should be concise and unnecessary general description about the respective species should be avoided and only should focus on the experimental results.

  4. The Gene bank accession number should be specified correctly.

  5. Some branch labels of the phylogenetic trees are obscured and overlapped. It should be corrected.
