Title: "Mineral components of wild-harvested Prionoplus reticularis edible insect at various development stages: nutritional and safety implications"

Comments to authors

The study on mineral components of wild harvested edible larva “Huhu grubs” sounds interesting but, in my opinion, the information provided in this MS is not enough to be considered for publication in Q1 journal due to the following reasons:
1. The source of samples was only from 1 location, not possible to conclude that the minerals would vary depending on location or not as samples were picked up from logs in the forest.
2. The variation in the period of harvesting may help for explanation in some aspects
3. Report of LOQ is needed.
4. The topic included safety implications but the presentation was not sound enough.
5. Information on nutrition reported was only from one harvesting period from one location, not possible to claim for Huhu grubs larva picked up around NZ.

Due to the comments above, in my opinion, the manuscript should be rejected.
