The abstract of this article is more than 250 words. The abstract of this article has not been written completely, especially the data analysis method. The aim of this study has been written clearly. The title is informative and relevant with the aim of this study, but the authors do not describe what the low-middle country is at the background. The research question is clearly outlined. The authors said that health literacy study in low and middle-income countries is limited. So this reasearch would be fruitfull literature. The lack of this introduction is the author did not describe what is the meaning of low-middle country. This article has explained how to do subject selection clearly. All of variables are defined and measured appropriately using primary data and secondary data. The instruments (S-TOFHLA) has been validated by previous research with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.97. There is enough detail in order to replicate the study, but using one-way ANOVA to analyze all data is a bad choice, because all variables are categorical data. The authors did not write the results clearly, it would be better if the authors present the cross-tabulation analysis in Table 2, i.e. the dependent variable categorized into 3 group and also shows the p-value or 95%CI. The coloumn is for dependent variable, and the row is for independent variables. The results have been discussed from many angles and placed into context without being over-interpreted. But, the conclusions do not answer the aims of this study. The authors have written the limitations of the study and inform future research. The references are relevant, but the number of recent references in the last 10 years is less than 90%.
Overall strengths : 1. The title in article is informative and relevant 2. The topic is quite clear 3. The results have been discussed from many angles and put into context without being over-interpreted 4. The authors have written the limitations of the study and inform future research.
Research impact: This research will be a reference for researching in the field of public health, especially health literacy assessment to determine the appropriate prevention programs target
Major points in the article which needs clarification, refinement, reanalysis, rewrites and/or additional information and suggestions for what could be done to improve the article.
- Explain the description of low-middle country
- It would be better if the authors present the cross-tabulation analysis in Table 2, i.e. the dependent variable categorized into 3 group and also shows the p-value or 95%CI. Please do re-analysis your data using non-parametric test. The coloumn is for dependent variable, and the row is for independent variables
- Explain the number of respondent in every variables
- The conclusions do not answer the aims of this study
Minor points like figures/tables not being mentioned in the text, a missing reference, typos, and other inconsistencies.
- There are some typo in the paragraphs.
