Comments on abstract, title, references

The manuscript presented Heavy metals contamination and distribution of benthic foraminifera from the Red Sea coastal area, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I have some comments on this paper.

I suggested commanding both heavy metals and benthic foraminifera together. So, the title is better to be the Distribution of heavy metals and benthic foraminifera from the Red Sea coastal area, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It included some important aspects such as the location of the samples, number of the samples, important results. However, it needs more data showing and the conclusion of this study.

It is better to add DOI for each reference.

Comments on introduction/background

The introduction needed more knowledge about the study area as well as explains the importance of this work on the Red Sea. More knowledge about research problems is missing. Also, knowledge about the purpose of this paper is missing. The research objectives are clear.

Comments on methodology

The methodology section was very good. However, Twenty samples were very small and not presented in the study area very well. More samples were important for both reliability and validity. More information about the process of the work was missing.

Comments on data and results

Appropriate units and the number of decimals were presented. However, Tables and figures were not relevant and clearly presented. Figure 8, 9, and 10 can be combined. A statistically significant result was not clear. Also, Min, Max., average, standard division were not presented in Table 3.

Comments on discussion and conclusions

The results were discussed very well and the conclusions confirmed the aims of the study. Also, the conclusions supported by references. However, Comparisons to similar studies are needed, and suggestions for future research were missing.
