Over all this is a good attempt to study the socio-demographic factors pertaining to awareness of HIV/AIDS.

  1. Kindly avoid the historical statement regarding spread of HIV/AIDS, (as when it was discovered), because it has become a common knowledge in the literature of HIV/AIDS research (Page 4, first statement of introduction).

  2. You mentioned that there is growing epidemic of HIV/AIDS in the Middle East and North Africa compared to the most of the regions of the world, and highlighted the scarcity of data due to social, cultural, and religious taboos. Kindly elaborate those factors to make them more meaningful (Page 4, first paragraph).

  3. I appreciate your brilliant observation regarding geographical location of Jeddah, being entry point of population movements and its contribution in HIV/AIDS spread (Page 4, second paragraph).

  4. Kindly make brief comments on government initiatives on prevention and care of HIV/AIDS in Saudi Arabia, and how it is impacting your findings?

  5. Inclusion of illiterate people and occupation status could have enriched your findings (Page 5, Method section, first paragraph). In statistical analysis, use of logistic regression could have brought out more explanatory factors (Page 7, data analysis section)

  6. In your findings, you mentioned gender difference of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS, but in your discussion section, you did not elaborate the factors behind this gender difference (page 8, result section, fourth paragraph).

  7. In finding section, you conclude no influence of education on suggested isolation of HIV-infected people, but you did not mention the possible psycho-social factors on idea of isolating HIV-infected people (page 10, result section, last paragraph).

  8. In discussion section, you highlighted low knowledge of HIV/AIDS among medical and non-medical students. Kindly give the research evidence supporting this observation, because medical students should have ample knowledge of HIV/AIDS (page 10, second paragraph).

  9. In the discussion section, (last sentence, fourth paragraph) you mentioned that 30% of respondents working in medical field showed positive attitude, however, stigmatization also occurred in the same group. This is very contrasting statement, kindly clarify it and make it more meaningful. How come positive attitude and stigmatization can occurs together?
