This a study based on cross-sectional data from clinic registry across Australasia which reports on glycaemic control documented at last visit in adolescents. It shows majority of adolescents had sub optimal glycaemic control. To help the reader put these findings in context, the authours should include information about the participating centres (are they all tertiary hospitals? public funded or private ?). What type of insulin regimen (MDI, CSII, HCL). How many used CGM? Any ethnic differences? Any association of these with glycaemic control. The findings of poorer control amongst those who had more contact with diabetes clinic needs further exploration. Were the contacts routine clinic visits or did it include emergency attendances with acute complications.
