The idea of simulating many scattering events using a single 'super event', often by modifying the parameters of the medium, is a common approximate MC acceleration technique in particle transport. Please comment in detail (here and/or at SIGGRAPH) about the relationship between your work and previous condensed history methods.
Specifically:
"On the condensed history technique for electron transport", Kawrakow and Bielajew 1998
"A transport condensed history algorithm for electron monte carlo simulations", Tolar and Larsen 2001
"Monte carlo electron dose calculations using discrete scattering angles and discrete energy losses", Franke and Prinja 2005
"Condensed history Monte Carlo methods for photon transport problems", Bhan and Spanier 2007
Thanks.
