Title : As per the abstract, title of the manuscript is not relevant and not given any value added applications according to the title. Title should be like that "Study of bioactive compounds present in cupuassu (Theobroma grandiflorum Schum.) seed: A agro-industrial by-product

Abstract: The aim of the study was found to be clear and whatever study the did, mentioned it in abstarct.

References: It was found to be relevant, recent and referenced correctly. Appropriate key studies included as per the mentioned reference.

Comments on introduction/backgroun

Introduction part of this manuscript is easy to understand and whatever information provided about proposed title was found to be helpful to understand the background of the topic. The problem outlined on the basis of provided information is clear but I liked to see more literature review about bioactive compounds present in Cupussu (Theobroma grandiflorum Schum.) from previously studied which will be helpful for comparison in present case.

Comments on methodology

Methodology part of this manuscript was found to be satisfactory process of subject selection is clear. All the variables defined and measured appropriately. Referred study method found to be valid and reliable.

Comments on data and results

Data provided in the tables and figures was found to be relevant and helpful to understand present study. All the captions of the tables and figures was observed to be relevant to the study and provided data. Units and decimals given in the results are appropriate Statistical analysis done for the results were found to be useful for its significance. No text provided in the result were repetitive in the data

Comments on discussion and conclusions

Results of present study were discussed very well with previous study and also compared. Conclusion provides useful information regarding the cupuaassu seed extract in various aspect like physico-chemical, nutritional and functional properties. Drawn conclusion was not supported by any reference or result. It was drawn as very general statement. Some limitations were reported in conclusion regarding implementation part of cupuassu seed extract as a raw material for industrial processes and future research is also addresses in this regard.

Overall statement or summary of the article and its findings in your own words

Overall, present article has given very fruitful information regarding the available bioactive compounds present in the byproduct of cupuassu seed. Apart from some corrections required to made (as per my observation) in title of manuscript (MS), whole MS provide significant information regarding the functional and physicochemical properties of cupuassu seed byproduct. Information provided on explored polyphenol compound and antioxidant activity also attracts attention towards its use in food processing industries. Information provided thermal behaviour also found to be useful towards its use in encapsulation purpose. Information explored in in micronutrien profile could be helpful to understand cupuassu seed byproduct composition in better way.

Overall strengths of the article and what impact it might have in your field

According to the view of authors eagerness towards the utilization of cupuassu seed byproduct as source of bioactive compounds for food and biotechnological processes in industry, this research found to be useful. Investigation carried out to collect information on various aspects like physico-chemical properties, polyphenol and antioxidant potential, micro-nutrient level and compositional characteristics impress me to utilize this cupuassu seed byproduct positively for various food and pharma applications.

Specific comments on weaknesses of the article and what could be done to improve it

Major points in the article which needs clarification, refinement, reanalysis, rewrites and/or additional information and suggestions for what could be done to improve the article.

Use of this cupuassu seed extract in some formulation (food or medicinal) will improve importance of this underutilized byproduct in commercial way. Readers will be very happy to see the next part of this research (clinical trials) which could be very important from its commercial point of view.

Minor points like figures/tables not being mentioned in the text, a missing reference, typos, and other inconsistencies.

All the figures and tables observed to be informative and reported accurately in text.
