Comments on abstract, title, references

  1. The aim is clear from the abstract and aligns with the main paper.
  2. The methodology used in the analysis of nutritional and antinutritional compositions needs to be specified in brief in the abstract.
  3. The authors can add "antinutritional values" in the title as well to highlight the discussion of the antinutritional composition of the seeds in the paper.
  4. The paper should include the latest advancements and research on the same topic. References used are old, kindly update with the latest references.

Comments on introduction/background

  1. The introduction focuses more on the description of the plant than addressing the issues which have influenced the paper.
  2. The author can add more content related to food insecurity and the need for alternative sources.
  3. The introduction can be split into two parts: one discussing the plant and the other addressing more about the paper.

Comments on methodology

  1. The author may specify the method used to separate good seeds from bad ones in the sample preparation. Other than this, all methods have been clearly described, validity and reliability of methods can be trusted

Comments on data and results

  1. References are not clearly cited in the results. Pl. revise.
  2. Check spelling and grammar errors. for example - In is necessary -> It is necessary. It is also critical to the absorption -> for the absorption.
  3. The author can compare the resulting statistics with existing daily requirements of the minerals, nutrients, phytochemicals, etc by an average adult human.

Comments on discussion and conclusions

  1. The author must highlight the future prospects of the study.
  2. the author may list other uses of the plant other than nutritional benefits, to make the paper more holistic.
  3. The author may list limitations if any.
  4. Other recent studies can be used and compared with the current study to draw useful conclusions and highlight the importance.

Overall: The study is designed in a way to address the aim and add new knowledge about wild edible plants and their nutritional benefits. Limitations may be listed by the author discussing ways to overcome it.
