Comments on abstract, title, references
1- TITLE : i think the title must be An Characterization of multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli isolates in urinary tract infections from Aguascalientes, Mexico: cross-sectional study
because evaluation like assessment while Characterization mean presence or absent
2- abstract : the aim of the study found in methodology while it must found in the end of introduction .
3- reference:its OK
Comments on introduction/background
INTRODUCTION: 1- the authors sometime wrote urinary tract infections and sometime UTI it is better if wrote in one style . 2- most of statement end wiht one reference
Comments on methodology
1- this statement need reference: ( To isolate E. coli, serial decimal dilutions of the sample were prepared in 0.85% NaCl, and were used to inoculate MacConkey agar plates which were incubated overnight at 37 °C. All the isolates were screened by PCR for the uidA gene as confrmation (Table 1). Te E. coli isolates were stored at −80 °C in Luria–Bertani broth and 20% (vol/vol) glycerol). 2 - Escherichia coli must be written E.coli
Comments on data and results
I think that the comparison between the samples of men and women is useless, because certainly the ratio will be higher for men because women are more numerous than men. The preparation of the samples should have been close or equal so that the comparison is feasible
Comments on discussion and conclusions
1- discussion : this statement need to discuss "our results reveal higher prevalence of urinary tract infections in female patients than in males " why ? 2- conclusions: well done
