The title is concise and catchy. It is informative and relevant The abstract is showing the main aim and is matching the rest of the article The background clearly showing what is already known about the topic and clearly stating the study objectives Regarding the quantitative part of the study a convenience sample was collected so this affects the validity and precision of the results of the study. The authors mentioned response rate however (response rate is usually calculated for a known sample size rather than a convenience sample) (Some of the nurses received training of the baby- Friendly hospital while others not(non-homogeneous sample) Regarding the qualitative part recruitment of the subjects is not clear sampling for the qualitative part is biased and-focus group discussion done seemed to be one group only while a number of them should be done till saturation The analysis of qualitative data is NOT adopting a certain style e.g. thematic analysis and there are few quotes only. Relation to the literature needs to be increased Conclusion not reflecting the results well Recommendations embedded in the conclusion and they are not consistent with the results Some of the references are outdated e.g. reference number 32 Overall the study design was appropriate to answer the aim.The study has added more knowledge regarding the factors affecting exclusive breastfeeding in Nigeria The major flaws include the sampling technique and limited generalization In general the article is consistent with itself
