Comments on abstract, title, references
- The aim is poor, please connect with transfer factor or other other things. -The title not corresponding with the data. Change the title e.g. Estimation of Toxic Metals in Soils and Plants. -The references are relevant, but you need to used some other opposite reference. Sometimes the reference not used in correct form.
Comments on introduction/background
In general the introduction is clear but have some gaps. During citation other authors, author no 13 not discus in his paper for this problem (so need to delete), while author no 12 has cited other authors who have not been cited here (the first authors should be cited).
In paragraph Transfer factor, where used the sentences, if TF is < 1 this plant can be used for consumption, are cited by 1 author. Need to clarify because have meny authors which suggest to do not use this factor because in some contaminated sites the TF is very low, but the content of metals in plant was very high. So need to check also other authors before conclude.
Comments on methodology
To conclude if the number of samples is adequate, firstly need to know the surface of area, also there are not described about the soil and plant samples. This samples are individual? or are prepared average samples. If they are average samples, from how many individual samples are prepared. The methods not corresponding with title, because if you say "Bio-Availability of Toxic Metals" and used microwave with strong acids to digest is not correct, this is pseudo total of Toxic Metals. Also not used any internal or external material for accuracy of measured.
Comments on data and results
Firstly not need to present the data both in table and graphs. If you present in table please do not repeat again in graph. Also not use the graph if you can not show the column like your graph 2 (Pb, Cd and As did not show in column). Its better to use standard error than standard deviation in your data. In firs order in the tables not use Mean conc. of, its enough to write element and measure unit. Why you used mean, STD and again Mean +STD? Also is better to use International measure units SI, in this case, please change mg/kg in mg.kg-1. I am not happy with this data, maybe you need to check again the protocol of analyses or you have any error, because its unbelievable for me to have more Hg than Pb in soil, or this low Pb in soil? When you compere this data with international standard why you used the German, Austrian and Poland standard (its well known this countries are under the EC)?
Comments on discussion and conclusions
I did not see any serious discussed in this article, just a simple description of data. During discuss about the correlation, you said that have correlation between some metals, but in table I sow just one correlation between Hg and As. Not have a clear conclusion.
