Dear authors
Thanks for your important subject, kindly find the most important notes as below:

Prevalence of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Their Relationship to Mental and Physical Illnesses in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia.

Introduction
What are the prevalence of ACEs in KSA according to the previous studies ?
Methods:
The authors stated: This is a retrospective cohort, a questionnaire-based study evaluating the prevalence of ACEs and their relationship with physical and mental illnesses.
More details might be required for study design , how the authors conducted a retrospective cohort …??

The authors said: The inclusion criteria are the age of 19 years old , why they used age 19 and above instead of 18 years and above ?

How the authors chose the sample ?? They stated: the sample included 611 participants, who were randomly selected , so how they conducted a random sample that included both gender and chose via electronic way ?? More details for sample technique might be required

How the participants agreed to the informed consent to participate voluntarily ? Though the data collection was made electronically !
I suppose more details are require to elaborate such points !

Results
The statement: The total sample size after applying the exclusion criteria was: 507 , it is better to include. Such statement in the methods with more elaboration !

Female respondents were exposed to adverse childhood experiences more than males Dobson et al, 2020).
What did they mean of this citation (Dobson et al, 2020) in the results ???
Table 1 is long and might need to rewriting in other manner
Table 3(a). Regional Statistics. What is the meaning of regional statistics ?
Some abbreviations might need to explain in foot note

Table 3(b). International Statistics. I suppose the current study is not systemic review study, so no need for such tables, instead to that the authors can explain such comparison in text of the discussion with citations …

Discussion
The authors stated: ….Another possible explanation is the sociocultural factors; for example, some forms of abuse are still socially acceptable methods of discipline by some parents in the Middle East. This statement not clear and need more clarification ….

They said: This study provides new insight into the relationship between ACE and the resulting physical illnesses.
The previous studies in KSA, in the region and other countries in the world showing similar findings so we can’t said this study parodies new insight regarding the ACEs and physical illness

In general, I suppose the discussion need to rewrite in more clear and precise manner…
Regards .
