Content of review 1, reviewed on May 03, 2021

The overall writings were very concise and detailed. Figures, charts and tables were clearly presented. Impact and novelty of the study were addressed appropriately.

Overall strength and impact: - 5 patients from the pre-test were not included - Outcome measurements were taken appropriately (STAI, ECLIA and cortisol level) - Novelty, impact as well as the limitations of the research were addressed appropriately. - The study helps in addressing patient's post-operative anxiety issues through a non-pharmacological and non-invasive method. - Discussions were well written and supported with references from related studies.

Weakness: - Suggest to include more recent and relevant background information or theories related to mind-body interventions and guided imagery. - No construct/content validation of the script used for the EG was conducted. - Exclusion criteria: suggest to exclude patients who are diagnosed with psychiatric disorders, ie schizophrenia, major depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders etc. Patients with psychiatric issues may hinder the quality of the study. Also, the patients may be subjected to unnecessary risks. Investigator may screen the mental status of the patients using a validated questionnaire or conduct a semi-structured history taking during the recruitment phase.
- Suggest to summarise the blinding process of the study using a table.
