Title: Present title looks to be good and informative

Abstract: It is found to be informative and very well organised. All the necessary information provided in short and also highlight the key results as required.

References: Overall reference section provides enough refereed data as required. except very few, all references are recent and referred correctly. From my view of observation, appropriate key study has been included.

Introduction and Background Introductory part of the manuscript found to be informative. It covers all the necessary information available and required. Objective of research is also outlined very clearly. But from my view, already some of the study has been done on supercritical extraction of tomato peel but that has not covered reviewed literature. I will be happy if they include the previous study and outline their objective on that basis.

Methodology Overall methodology part looks sound and all the study carried out based on extraction, quantification and analytical mentioned in a correct way with valid procedure as reported previously.

Results Data presented in tables and figures observed to be appropriate, relevant and clearly mentioned. All the units, numbers and decimals reported correctly. Caption given to the tables and figures showed correct information about the investigated results. Text provided in the data is not repeated.

Discussion and conclusion Discussed results provides fruitful information in terms of drawing strong conclusion. Conclusion part also provides relevant result in order to meet the proposed aim of the study. Limitations - Optimized pressure condition found to be useful for recovery of essential phytochemicals. Otherwise increased pressure condition enhances recovery of phytochemicals but adversely affect on antioxidant activity. Future scope - No future scope mentioned in present study.

Overall statement or summary of the article and its findings in your own words

Present article focused on utilization of tomato byproduct for recovery of valued phytochemicals. This utilization of waste in terms of extraction and value addition of these is the need of the hour for future food options.Investigated optimized study also gives meaning trend of data which makes good correlation between extraction yield and antioxidant activity.

Overall strengths of the article and what impact it might have in your field.

  • From my view, use of supercritical carbon dioxide extraction over traditional extraction method is the key point by which extraction of target oriented compound can be possible.
  • Utilization of tomato peel byproduct as a source for recovery of phytochemicals highlighted its use in terms of value addition in food and nutraceutical area.

Specific comments on weaknesses of the article and what could be done to improve it
