The author is knowledgeable in the field of demography and articulated COVID from a demographic angle which is important to demographic literature.

Methodology

The methodology is sound although a few issues:

Use of Nigeria could have been good but authors did little to explain the situation of an African country. Also from the article, African dynamics seem different and thus there was no need to compute fatality rates of Nigeria using Italy's fatality rate.

The authors are highly credited for giving supplementary data analysis information that is useful to understand the angle from which the authors made assumptions.
