The aim of this research is to determine what constitutes burnout, what are the factors that contribute to burnout being developed and how this affects an organization, the patients, and the individual. The paper is revelant to my research. This paper is a scholarly article, a recent publication, and has references. In addition, the methods used to conduct this study are noted in the abstract. The results of the study and a conclusion are also listed for the reader. This research was theoretical review. A quantitative primary empirical study.

The researchers for this article notes that there have been many studies or reviews that try and find variables or outcomes for burnout. Variables such as workload, shift, supporting factors, work environment and so forth. Outcomes referring to the nurse, patient, and healthcare organization. The title for this article is justified based off what is already known and finding out what is not known about this subject. The aim of this research shows theorised relationships that exists among nursing burnout and some variables.

This research used research from other studies about burnout to determine the theoretical relationship, and other variables to provide what is known and not known about this topic. The study method used for this study is based off of previous research related to this topic. The detail provided in this study will be enough to replicate for future research.

The results of this study are clear and easy to understand. The results showed that of the articles reviewed high workload, value incongruence, low control over the job, low decision latitude, poor social climate/ social support, and low rewards were the predictors of burnout. Figure 1 in the study list items such whether the nurse works day or night shift, work load and the work environment, which could all contribute to nurse burnout. This table/graph is easy to read to understand for the reader. I am clear about the statistically meaning but not the practical meaning of a study.

The limitations of the study provide areas for future research. The study did not take into consideration personal issues the nurse may be experiencing. The conclusion of this study does answer the question, what constitutes burnout, factors that contribute to burnout, and the consequences of burnout. By performing this study, the authors concluded that there are other variables that contribute to burnout besides what has been noted in previous research. The results of this research are broken into several variables with an explanation for each to give the reader a better understanding.
