Comments on abstract, title, references
The title is clear, informative, and well written. The abstract contains a quick and accurate summary for the entire work, and what they found. The references are in the same style and related to the study but it is not UpToDate .
Comments on introduction/background
The introduction in this article is well written and begins with a research question about the problem of the global warming due to increasing of emission of CO2 in the air and the research question is clearly outlined. The authors list different materials used for CO2 capture, but all these materials are inorganic compounds not related to the main idea of this work which used adsorbent from organic polymers. It would be more effective if they list some organic materials used for this purpose then go through organic polyamide polymer.
Comments on methodology
In the methodology part, the synthesis steps are clear and well written in detail for who want to repeat the experiments. But in the case of using mixed solvent, they directly used 50/50 from (NMP) and (DMAc) without any justification or applying more attempts to use different ratio from this mixture solvents. It would be as a complete work if they carried out the reaction in another different solvents such as DMSO or DMF and compare between what they found because in the literature they mostly used DMSO and DMF for prepare melamine -based polymers.
Comments on data and results
In the results part, the data was presented in an appropriate way and the figures were clearly organized. The tables are clearly presented the appropriate units, and number of decimals. Furthermore, the columns, rows and axis of the figures were correctly labelled and contained all the information with a practically meaningful result.
Comments on discussion and conclusion
The results were discussed from different directions and this discussion was completed to each other without any repetitive. The conclusions answered the question of the research and it supported by results from this work. The research has no limitations, and it would be a good opportunity to open the horizon to prepare a cost-effective organic polyamide for CO2 capture.
Future work Polyamidation reaction can be carried out using different solvents like DMSO or DMF and compare the efficiency of CO2 capture of new products with this work and the mechanical properties can be studied. Moreover ,this polyamide can be applied for water treatment used as adsorbent for heavy metal removal. Also , New melamine -based polyamide can be prepared by applying different monomers with more benzene ring such as di functional naphthalene or anthracene and study the environmental applications.
