Comparison of Diabetes Risk Score Estimates and Cardiometabolic Risk Profiles in a Middle-Aged Irish Population. The study investigated diabetic risk score estimates and cardiometabolic risk profiles in a middle-aged Irish population. The title was well constructed. The objective was well pursued. The methodology section was carefully constructed and written. The study design was clear. However, a randomised controlled trial would be a better alternative to make the evidence much more acceptable. The clinical and anthropometric data was well measured. Results were presented with figures and tables. More tables will be appreciated in the result section. Also the descriptive statistics showing the total population characterisics was not presented. The presented prevalence need 95% confidence intervals to be added. The discussion section considered existing literature. The references cited were not very recent evidence at the time of publication. The limitation and strength of the study should also be reported. The internal validity of the study is satisfactory and equally the external validity (this work can be applied to centers outside where it was carried out).
