The proposed article concerns the study of the presence and dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes in duck/fish polyculture ponds in Guangdong. It also studies the possible correlations between metal and observed antibiotic resistance genes. The methodological approach is robust, and the results are convincing and innovative. Nevertheless, improvements in wording and phrasing are required as well as in interpretations e.g. influence of seasons on observed results. The results section is too big compared with the discussion part. It is recommended to re-arrange the paper including a results and discussion section instead of results and discussion separately, this will give greater clarity. It is also necessary to deepen the interpretations of these results. The discussion needs to be significantly improved to take full advantage of the produced results. The conclusion could be ameliorated giving more interpretations of the results and supporting them with the research findings. Finally, the references need also be uploaded. I propose to accept the paper with mayor revisions
