The manuscript demonstrates that the Echinococcus granulosus behaves like many other helminths/parasites against allergic diseases/asthma. Helminths infection are able to stimulate a Th2-type responses that means:1) high level of polyclonal IgE that saturates the IgE receptors, and protect against mast cell degranulation; and 2) elevated level of IL-10, a strong anti-inflammatory citochine that could help to prevent the cascade of events leading to allergic inflammation
