The manuscript is interesting and well written; the methods are appropriate and well described, and are sufficient details provided to replicate the work. The discussion and conclusions are well balanced and adequately supported by the data. The manuscript demonstrates that the Echinococcus granulosus behaves like many other helminths/parasites against allergic diseases/asthma. Helminths infection are able to stimulate a Th2-type responses that means:1) high level of polyclonal IgE that saturates the IgE receptors, and protect against mast cell degranulation; and 2) elevated level of IL-10, a strong anti-inflammatory citochine that could help to prevent the cascade of events leading to allergic inflammation
