Content of review 1, reviewed on July 12, 2020
The authors present a comprehensive guide to the design, operation, and analysis of stereo BRUV surveys. Given the growing use of stereo BRUVs, it is encouraging to see attempts to standardize the technique and data outputs. The guide will contribute towards the authors overall aim, to increase the interoperability of data between groups allowing researchers to answer broad scale, ecologically meaningful questions. There are minor comments within but I recommend the manuscript be accepted upon the completion of edits.
