Abstract, title and references

The aim of the title is clear and also it is informative and relevant. According to the abstract section, it is clear what they did but it would be better to introduce their used techniques briefly.

Introduction/background

It is clear what is already known about this topic. The research question is clearly outlined. The research question is justified given what is already known about the topic.

Methods

The process of subject selection is clear. The variables are defined and measured appropriately. The study methods valid and reliable. But there should be enough details in order to replicate the study especially for transfection method.

Results

The data is presented in an appropriate way. The text in the results adds to the data. Statistically significant results are clear. meaningful results are clearly expressed.

Discussion and Conclusions

The results are discussed properly from multiple angles and placed into context without being over-interpreted. The conclusions answer the aims of the study. The conclusions are supported by references.

Overall

The study design was appropriate to answer the aim but it seems more experiments are needed to fully approve apoptotic induction effect of STAT3 knocking down in astrocytoma cells.
