Data and code review:

The authors have done a remarkable job of publishing their data: the data are freely accessible, complete with metadata, and the codes they provide work almost error-free to reproduce the main results presented in the manuscript. I therefore have only a few comments to make:

1) The version of the packages (and R) used should at least be mentioned as a comment in the script, for greater reproducibility. Ideally, you can make your R environment more reproducible with packages such as packrat or renv.

2) L14 of the main script: I suggest changing the file path using here(), as is done later in the script. You can also use here() to source 'libfun.R'.

3) the 'group' and 'climate_origin' variables are not described in the readme file
