comments on title: the appropriate title should be the impact of fertilizer adoption on smallholders’ commercialization in Ethiopia rather than Does fertilizer adoption enhance smallholders’ commercialization? An endogenous switching regression model from northern Ethiopia

Comments on Abstract; The abstract should be summarize background, research gap, objective, methodology(sample size and technique, type and source of data, method of analysis), result, conclusion and recommendation. but in this paper the abstract is not attract and satisfy the reader. it should be rewrite as attractive manner.

Comments on introduction/background

-The introduction should clearly describe current status of fertilizer utilization, amount, contribution in different crop production in Ethiopia. -The introduction should clearly defied the gap -Which type of fertilizer is more applicable in Ethiopia( organic/inorganic) -It should be consistent in order (from general to specific)

Comments on methodology

on the sample size ''Te data used in this paper come from a cross-sectional data of 626 farm households surveyed in 2014–2015 production season from rural Tigrai, northern Ethiopia. is a controversial statement. 2014-2015 there will have 4 production season. so what does it mean cross sectional data. it is not clear.

The sampling technique is not appropriate in this study. Highland, low land, medium have different production style, type etc. how do you over com those types

Comments on data and results

the descriptive statistics should present significant difference between treatment and control group for contentious and categorical data separately.

Comments on discussion and conclusions

it is not clearly conclude about the impact of fertilizer adoption
