The article provides a clear overview of the mechanisms currently employed to address ecological connectivity in the LNRS, offering an assessment of ambiguities or lack of clarity and experience in implementing these mechanisms. The subject matter is well-suited for publication in the scientific journal's ' Practice Insights' section.
A notable strength of the topic is the initial approach, which aims to elucidate the most efficacious manner in which to implement strategies for achieving effective ecological connectivity. A priori, this is a matter of interest to both specialists in the field and professionals from various areas, both private and public, who must address this issue at both the planning and strategy design levels.
It is suggested that further elaboration be made about the question of which specific tools or practical methodologies are the most suitable for meeting the requirements of the work. For instance, Table 3 and Figure 2 present a highly informative summary and graphical representation, respectively, of the recommended workflows and their complexity. Nevertheless, there is an absence of specific examples that illustrate good practices in which the effectiveness of the developed connectivity has been quantified. While incorporating this aspect may exceed the maximum length allowed, it would be highly appropriate to include measurable and verifiable data.
The tables and figures have been organised coherently and effectively, providing supplementary material that is aligned with and enhances the content of the text. Moreover, from the perspective of information presentation, it is proposed that the numbered points in the abstract be eliminated. Regarding the selection of keywords, it is recommended that greater specificity be applied. For instance, the terms 'ecological connectivity' or 'nature-based science practice' could be utilised.
