Abstract

The present work investigates the influence of the organizational climate on the withdrawal from work due to occupational diseases in public servants. The sample consisted of public servants of the campi of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Brasília. In the qualitative research, it was used organizational climate survey questionnaires, based on Martins' Organizational Climate Scale (2008) and documental analysis of the report of the server’s withdrawal by diseases in the period between 2012 and 2017. The questionnaire results pointed out that the public servers perceive the organizational climate as medium. The documentary analysis showed that the majority public servant’s withdrawal by occupational diseases corresponds to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue, and those related to mental and depressive disorders. Considering the role of the organizational climate in the disease affection, intervention actions were proposed to improve the climate and promote the health of the public server.
