Abstract

Implementation of the concept of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) developed by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a promising area of improvement of air traffic control and management system. The CNS/ATM concept is based on the principles of Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B). The near-far effect is one of the problems of efficient use of the system. To eliminate the problem the authors propose an original algorithm of optimal control over the output power of a transponder transmitter using the assessment time of arrival in the ADS-B datalink. Simulated statistical modelling was performed and comparative analysis of the obtained dependences was carried out. The modelling proved that in implementing the algorithm of optimal control of radiated power it was possible to even the level of signals coming from objects located at different distances.
