I currently work at the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University doing research in Spectroscopy, Theoretical Chemistry and Materials Chemistry. I am PI of the project entitled 'Electroprotic and redox activation mechanisms of ROS precursors over inorganic mimetics of catalase or peroxidase'. My scientific interests are connected with materials and catalysts, surfaces, application of electron paramagnetic resonance and other spectroscopic techniques, DFT modeling of structures and spectral parameters of complexes/adducts comprising transition-metal ions.

Dr. Wojciech Szczeklik received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jagiellonian University Medical College. After medical school he completed residency in Internal Medicine, Immune diseases and Critical Care, and received PhD at Jagiellonian University Medical College. His foreign clinical and research experience include University College in London, Harvard University, University of Cambridge and McMaster University. The focus of his research are autoimmune diseases, critical care, and vascular complications around the time of noncardiac surgery. Dr. Szczeklik has published more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, and authored more than 30 book chapters. He received several awards for young researchers and as a teacher, including being selected by students’ organization as best academic teacher in Poland in 2016. Dr. Wojciech Szczeklik currently holds a position of Professor and Head of Intensive Care and Perioperative Medicine within the Department of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University Medical College and Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada.
