Universiti Putra Malaysia, or UPM, is recognised by the independent government assessments as one of Malaysia's leading research Universities. Founded in 1931 as the School of Agriculture, UPM's main campus is located in central Peninsular Malaysia, close to the capital city, Kuala Lumpur and next to Malaysia’s administrative capital city, Putrajaya.

UPM is a research university offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a research focus on agricultural sciences and its related fields. It was ranked as the joint 376th best university in the world in 2014 by Quacquarelli Symonds. On 2015, UPM was ranked 45th in Best Global Universities for Agricultural Sciences of U.S. News & World Report College and University Ranking.

    Dr. Mohammad Jawaid, PhD is currently working as Fellow Researcher (Associate Professor), at Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia and also Visiting Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since June 2013. Previously he worked as Visiting Lecturer, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and also worked as Expatriate Lecturer under UNDP project with Ministry of Education of Ethiopia at Adama University, Ethiopia. He received his Ph.D. from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. He has more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes Hybrid Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Advance Materials: Graphene/Nanoclay/Fire Retardant, Lignocellulosic Reinforced/Filled Polymer Composites, Modification and Treatment of Lignocellulosic Fibres and Solid Wood, Nano Composites and Nanocellulose fibres, Polymer blends.So far he has published 15 book, 27 book chapters, and more than 235 International journal papers and 5 Published review paper under Top 25 hot articles in science direct during 2014-2016. He is a reviewer of several high impact ISI journals.

    Heshu Sulaiman Rahman

    The scientific researcher, Dr. Heshu Sulaiman Rahman was obtained her Ph.D from Universiti Putra Malaysia on 2014 in the field of Hematology and Clinical Pathology. She granted best PhD thesis at the Universiti Putra Malaysia for year 2014. Her research areas include the development of alternative treatments for cancers and nanoparticles development for drug delivery. The nanoZER (WO2014/123406 A1) is one of the products of her research. Previously, she was a Senior lecturer/Chairwoman at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS)/College of Health Sciences/ Komar University for Science and Technology (KUST). Currently, she is Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She has published more than 60 journal and proceeding articles, 3 books, produced 8 patents and received 10 awards including Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals.

    Siong Hook Law

    Siong Hook Law is currently Associate Professor in the Economics Department of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He was a visiting scholar at Department of Economics, University of California Santa Cruz. Currently he is a visiting scholar at Division of Economics, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. He has published more than 100 articles in refereed journals, including 40 in journals indexed by Thomson Web of Science. Most of his published papers utilize panel estimation methods and time series analysis to address issues in economics and finance. His publications include Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, World Economy, Economic Letters, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Economic Systems, Economic Modelling, Resources Policy, Journal of Economic Inequality, Economics of Governance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, etc. He is the Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Economics and Management (cited in Scopus). He has also been a member of the Editorial Board for the Economic Systems (cited in Thomson Web of Science journal), International Journal of Social and Economic Research (cited in Scopus). Currently he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Study of Emerging Markets (USA), and Board Member of International Finance and Banking Society (UK).
