We've always said that our staff are brilliant, and the proof just keeps coming in!
This week, Publons coder-supreme Matt Betts won the overall poster prize at the Victoria University of Wellington's Summer Scholarship poster/video competition. When asked how he felt about winning, Matt grinned widely and said 'Pretty cool'.
He's not the most garrulous amongst us :)
This year, about 300 students were a part of the summer scholarship programme, which partners students with research labs or organisations in areas the students are interested in pursuing. Of these, 66 entered the competition, meaning Matt was up against some pretty stiff competition!
Matt was partnered with us, and his poster examined Publons from an engineering perspective - he's finishing up his Honours degree in software engineering, while working at Publons too!
Of course, we'd like to say at this point that we think VUW are pretty awesome too for funding the scholarship programme - great to see these sorts of initiatives!
