Major announcement: Publons has partnered with ScholarOne, the editorial management system from Clarivate Analytics, used by 6,000 of the world’s premier academic journals.
Publons is making use of ScholarOne’s first class API so publishers and journals using ScholarOne can automatically recognise the contributions of their peer reviewers more easily than ever before.
We pride ourselves on making the Publons' integration process as simple as possible for publishers, editors and journal administrators, so we are excited to work with ScholarOne to streamline the recognition process and reduce the administrative burden for researchers and journals alike.
Prestigious publishing houses are already benefiting from the superior integration. This week Wiley announced over 750 hundred journals will begin offering automated reviewer recognition with Publons, with many of these journals making use of the ScholarOne API to streamline the process.
Some of the key benefits of the partnership include:
- Streamlined Publons integration for journals
- More automated recognition for every review completed (if reviewers opt in)
- ScholarOne users can link out to reviewer profiles on Publons, making it simple for editors to validate a reviewer’s record.
To the excitement of Publons users, the partnership lays the necessary groundwork for us to dig up past reviews and add them to users’ verified review records - proving how much they contributed to peer review prior to joining Publons.* This is one of the most common requests from reviewers.
The partnership also opens the door to including Publons’ tools to prevent reviewer fraud, train and expand the pool of reviewers and locate the best, willing reviewers every time, into the ScholarOne Manuscripts product.
We’re looking forward to working with ScholarOne and journals to provide these breakthrough features!
