Muruganandan Shanmugam


An experienced pharmacologist specialized in cellular and molecular biology with a Veterinary background. An accomplished researcher with more than fourteen years of experience in pre-clinical drug development, and exploration and discovery of novel therapeutic targets. Proven leadership in both academic and industrial environment. Published 26 scientific articles, which have received more than 2200 citations. Experience in managing complete project life cycle related to planning and execution of experiments, data analysis, and reporting.

Currently, I am a research associate in the Department of Pharmacology at Dalhousie University, where I am investigating novel targets to promote bone regeneration to benefit patients suffering from osteoporosis and related bone diseases.

I also have a strong interest in drug interactions, safety assessment, and clinical research, as well as public speaking.
