Chiavaioli Francesco


I received MEng degree summa cum laude in Telecommunications Engineering in 2008 and got PhD in 2012 from the University of Siena (Italy). I'm currently working as Post-doc at IFAC-CNR in the design and characterization of optical fiber sensors, especially those based on optical fiber gratings, to be used for sensing/bio-sensing purposes; new pH probes based on plastic optical fiber to be used in the field of biomedicine; use of LPGs to couple light into whispering gallery mode micro-resonators; SPR-based optical fiber sensors and biosensors; light modulation with graphene; graphene-based resonant nanostructures.
