Sergio Ismael Blanco Vasquez


Research projects are focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials (i.e.: particles, wires and tubes) by chemical and electrochemical methods, including morphological evaluation by SEM and AFM microscopy. Development of nanostructured sensors and nanomaterials for dye sensitive solar cells.

Technical projects are focused on the materials selection and evaluation according to the international normative (i.e.: ASTM, API, ABS, NACE). Including laboratory tests to evaluate corrosion resistance of materials and coatings, evaluation of materials for cathodic protection (anodes), accelerated corrosion tests (salt spray test) and corrosion of embedded materials (concrete corrosion).
