Dr. Soheil Gohari was born in Glasgow, United Kingdom. He received his PhD in the area of Mechanical Engineering from Victoria University, Melbourne in 2017. His primary research is focused on developing novel exact analytical and numerical solutions to assess the effect of piezoelectric sensors/actuators and shape memory alloys (SMAs) on mechanical failure and static/dynamic shape control of smart laminated composite hybrid structures. He is currently working on novel multi-task shape control methods for the new generation of smart laminated composite SMA morphing wings with potential application in aerospace industries.
He has substantial research publications in structural mechanics and materials, advanced composite hybrid structures, smart structures, fatigue and fracture mechanics, experimental mechanics, computational solid mechanics, pressure vessels design, structural dynamic and vibration, elasticity and plasticity.
